Andrea Spencer is a Principal in Optimus SBR’s Industries and Government Practice, and is the lead of the consulting firm’s health care and social services portfolio. She is an experienced consultant in the health care sector as both a clinician and a business leader, and has worked with organizations throughout the continuum of care, including with hospitals, agencies in home and community care, mental health and addictions, and primary care, with governments and agencies across Canada, regulators, and associations, among others across diverse industries.
Andrea is known for her work in promoting integrated models of care and service delivery, creating collaborative systems and teams, and guiding her partners to think strategically, particularly in an operating environment going through significant transformation.
Andrea has an undergraduate degree in Linguistics and Sociology from Queen’s University, a post-graduate certificate in Communicative Disorders, and an MBA and Graduate Diploma in Health Industry Management from the Schulich School of Business (’13). She is a Certified Change Management Professional (Prosci®) and Certified Health Executive (Canadian College of Health Leaders), and is proud to be Chair of the Board of Directors of Common Ground Cooperative, a social enterprise creating opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to be vibrant members of the community.
